|Comments:||You can keep Eynsham, this is the real deal. It was a misty morning up at Wroughton, the site of a former airfield south of Swindon – but as the race director said through his megaphone, mist means no wind, and no wind means PB. So I did.
This is a no-frills race, dominated by Wiltshire and Swindon clubs. So I proudly donned my yellow and blue livery augmented by gloves and a hat. The race HQ is the local karting centre, there are no changing facilities, the course is out and back with two loops and is fairly flat. I can recommend it for anyone who misses out on an Eynsham number. The only criticism was that the parking was a little bit crazy – I returned to my car to find it boxed in and had to wait 20 minutes for others to arrive so I could escape!
