|Comments:||Billed as a fast & flat 10K which for Sheffield is probably true. It only has a couple of hundred feet of ascent, unlike most other races around here which anyone from Oxford would consider vertical.
Conditions started very windy (60mph gusts!) and rainy but thankfully calmed down as the race started. The course starts near Loxley (where Robin Hood comes from - no he's not from Nottingham) and goes to Low Bradfield, where the lovely Farmers Blonde beer occasionally have at HRR comes from.
You run around a reservoir then to the village, sharp U turn and come back again. Just to add to the northern charm, there's a brass band playing in the tent and everyone gets an Xmas pudding. Highly recommended race.
Oh and Diane Moore's sister Rosalyn (who runs for Harrogate Harriers) passed me at 4k and said hello, proving once again you cannot go anywhere without meeting someone with a connection to HRR.
