Allison Hirst gets her first England Vest
Date:10 Oct 2001
Article:Allison took third place in the British Vets XC in Swansea on Saturday to take the W35 title and to earn herself selection to represent England in the upcoming International in Falkirk in a months time.
The race had been postponed from March due to the F and M epidemic but in fact proved to be a tough selection match for the in form runners, with the top five finishing very close. Allison left it until late to make her mark, working her way up the filed in what has become her trademark cautious start but killer finish style.

Speaking later in the week, having read about her exploits in the Oxford Mail her only comment was "Rumours of my motherhood have been exagerated, it was just one of Mark's Lentil stews".
