More info:
Stop Press: From the FLM web site today (15 April): "Flora London Marathon 2009 online entry ballot
Due to an overwhelming response Phase 1 of the Flora London Marathon 2009 online entry ballot has now closed. The limit of 80,000 applicants was reached at 10pm on Monday 14 April.

Phase 2 (the remaining 35,000 places in the online ballot and 5,000 paper ballot entries for runners who are unable to enter online) will open on Monday 21 April at 9am. Paper ballot entry forms, for those unable to enter online, are available by pre-registering with the London Marathon helpdesk on 020 7902 0200 from Monday."

So set your alarms for Monday!

This applies to the ballot places. Good For Age and Championship places are reserved by post by submitting the appropriate evidence.

Even before this year's marathon has started the organisers of the Flora London Marathon are promoting the new entry system for the 2009 event.

Entries for next year’s race will only be available on-line. This on-line system replaces the “Marathon News” magazine entry system of this and previous years.

The public ballot entry system will open on-line at midday on Sunday 13th April 2008. This is on race day and at a time when only the very fastest runners will have completed this year’s event!

Be warned that the closing date will either be September 5th 2008 or earlier if the entries exceed 120,000.

So be warned – do not leave your application too late!
