On a fine mild autumn afternoon we found the usual course extended in length because of wind damaged trees. This meant even more firm woodland tracks and made the race fast paced throughout.
The mens team finished an impressive 6th and continues to improve race on race, the vets. were 2nd again and just maybe start to think about a medal challenge. We hope the team strenghens even more next time out.
The women in contrast were hit by late illness again and failed to field a full team for the first time in years. We need old and new runners to rally round to help the cause next time. Despite the 'valiant three' 13th can only be regarded as a poor result. |
