There were good conditions for the first round of 2015 Club 5k series but a stiff South Easterly breeze made the last mile challenging.
Dan George was the fastest runner just ahead of Simon Kerr, with Jude Craft being the first woman across the line.
On the age-graded calculation the winner was Ex-HRR Allison Hirst who recorded a fantastic 89.3, bettering her HRR series record score of 88.3 from 2005 (which will still stand as the club best). Jude was the best HRR scorer and therefore leads the series going into round 2. John Griffiths was the leading male scorer, with Dan and Nick Pearce (a guest) also scoring 80+, with Anthony Wood just under 80.
Thanks to Philip Lister for helping throughout the morning and to Chris Jones who took the photographs (they are very much better than my usual efforts !). Round 2 is on 30th May and will also be included in the 2015 HRR Road Championship. |
