Comments: | There was a good turnout - including a number of runners new to both the 5km distance and HRR - for the first 5km of the year run in excellent conditions. Ed Mezzetti (Oxford City AC) just held off Ian Meadowcroft - who ran a personal best - to cross the line first. Helen Barnes was the first woman finisher in an excellent time of 17:37. However on the age graded scale the winner was Michael Worthington with a score of 82%. Ian and Helen were both above 80% for the first time, with Laura Kyte and Ursula Schulz almost joining them. Throughout the field there were some fine personal performances.
Race 2 in the series is at the end of May (Saturday 30th). |
