Comments:The Grand Union Canal Race (GUCR) is Britain's longest, toughest, non-stop running race, barring the bi-annual Thames Ring (250m).

The GUCR is run from the centre of Birmingham to the centre of London along the Grand Union Canal. Competitors are required to complete the 145 mile distance within the time limit of 45 hours.

Pat Robbins defended his title, and equalled his own record set last year, crossing the Finish line at Little Venice in a time of 26hrs and 24 minutes.

I finished 4th overall and won the Steve Phillips "Run For Life" Trophy for the first first-time GUCR runner to finish.

44 of the 91 starters managed to finish.
