Great scenery and fantastic organisation. The weather, as usual on these race days, tried to spoil it with heavy down pours, gale force (80mph) winds and some very low cloud. In between clear blue skies and bright sunshine enabled both events to go ahead. A tough uphill start for 5k up towards the "Old Man of Coniston", levelling out as we traversed round it before going up again. At least the final 7k was then downhill, if somewhat precarious through the slate quarries and the Torver Forest, finally running in along the banks of Lake Coniston. There was a minibus full from Alchester doing the race. Perhaps with enough interest we could do something similar for one of the four races in the series. Entries are now open for next year:
