A fast, friendly, flat city marathon. A little congested
to start, but we were soon flying along Hans Christian
Andersen Boulevard before passing Rosenborg Castle on our
way to the first lap of Fælledparken where there were DJs
and live bands to entertain us.
A great city centre race, taking in many sights of the
Danish capital. Plenty of pacing groups with brightly
coloured balloons to follow, and lots of crowd support
cheering us around.
It turned into a rather warm day, but with water stations
roughly every 4km it didn't get too painful.
Free yoghurt, chewy bars, beer, cake and hot chocolate at
the finish. And the chance to instantly look up your chip
times and average 5k splits.
I'd highly recommend this marathon if you're considering
one in Europe - it's Wonderful Wonderful! |
