The RNR is an annual event which takes place mid-September; HRR has entered one or two teams since the mid-1990s. As the name suggests, it is a relay race around the perimeter of Norfolk. The total distance of 190+ miles is divided into 17 stages of varying lengths, from 5 to 19 miles. Starting and finishing at King's Lynn, the terrain is mostly road, but with some of the early stages on coastal paths.

As an out of county club, HRR makes this a weekend away in Norfolk with hostel accommodation for the Friday & Saturday nights; transport from and to Oxford; dinner on Friday evening. It's a great weekend, and there's something for everyone: in addition to runners we also need drivers for transport (hired and own vehicles), a time keeper for each team and cyclists – if there's anyone not able to run, you can still be part of the team.

Information on this year's event over 3rd weekend in September can be found on the RNR website; contact the team manager or HRR committee if you wish to run or to find out more about our involvement.
