Following last year's inaugral club night event, round 3 of the Club 5k series took place on Thursday evening. In pleasantly warm conditions Chris Dettmar just held off Julien Lhomme to cross the finish line first in a time of 16:22. Rachel Shaw was the first woman finisher at 19:39. On the age graded basis Chris was also the winner with 86.7, surpassing the previous best score recorded in 2017 by Gary Harris in round 1. One of our newest members, Simon Dales, recorded a excellent score of 83.6 (and hence will appear on the best performances board on HRR 5k web page). Julien also recorded a >80 score, with John Griffiths just a few tenths below. It was great to see a number of people taking part in the 5k series for the first time. My thanks to Graham Norris for helping out at the finish line. The final round and last chance to overall Chris's score will be on Saturday 9 Sept.
