When did you join HRR and what prompted you to join?
Roughly 10 years ago. I joined because I wanted to get back to Cross Country running and HRR offered that.
When did you start running?
I’ve never not! I played Hockey to county level in my teens, Rugby at Uni, let work and having babies stop me running for a while but got back to it when my children were toddlers.
What inspired you to become a coach/leader?
I really loved it when I volunteered with the beginners c25k group, talking with and encouraging them was brilliant and a catalyst for me to do LiRF.
What group coaching/leading do you do at HRR?
Shepherding some Thursdays and hoping to join the Cross Country Training Team this coming season. I’m aiming to offer some off road runs South of Oxford (where I live) around Bagley Wood and Boars Hill.
What is your favourite training session?
Cross Country
What is your favourite race or running route?
Off road and trails are my happy place so Compton Marathon is a favourite race – it’s so well organised, friendly and has fantastic aid stations on the route (including a Pimms stop!). The last couple of years they’ve organised great weather too!
Anything else you’d like to add?
I’m very grateful for the wonderful friends I made through HRR.
