Fortunately the relentless rain of last weeks Oxford Half Marathon made way
for showers at times today and some dry spells. Many thanks to all the HRR marshals and supporters who turned out despite the weather. As always a well organised and enthusiastically marshalled event.
Congratulations to Fergus, Alan and Rose on their Marathon debuts and impressive times and Tim on a massive PB in his 2nd marathon. When Rose disappeared from me around 8 miles, I felt sure I would see her again. When later baracked by our Chairman that Rose was in front of me I told him confidently that she would slow down later but I only caught up with her in the 1st aid tent after the race! Nice to see old HRR member Chris Nellins up from Wales.
Sad to hear of Hayley collapsing unconscious at 24 miles and being stretchered in but pleased to see her looking much better by the time we left Abingdon, hope it doesn't put you off coming back again and hope you are now fully recovered!
