Aldi Ashby 20

Date: 22nd Mar 2009
Distance: 20m
Type: Road
Comments: An early start to get to the 21st running of the Ashby De La Zouch 20 miler in Leicestershire. Easy access off the Motorway, free parking by sports centre with hot showers make this a race worth considering as a pre London Long run. It is primary a 2 lap race with about a mile and a half out and back at the start and end of the race. An undulating course mainly on country roads, one scary section on National speed limit road each lap and a tough up hill mile from 18 - 19. The sun stayed out throughout but wind appeared to get up on the 2nd lap (that's why I try to stay in front of Ross!) Packed Lunch in your goody bag, hoody included in the price, Chip Timing and Chearful Marshals handing out Gels, Jelly Babies and Chocolate at the feed stations as well as Bottled Water made for a well organsied race. Apologies to Robin if I ignored you anywhere along the line, not sure what you look like but according to the results I finished 2 places in front of you, (although you beat me on time)didn't spot your Headington Top!
