The 1st race in the HRR Road Race Championships saw Headington well represented with 38 listed finishers.
Bright blue sky at the start with a chill wind and rain forcasted for later. The rain duly arrived around an hour and 20 minutes into the race which was later to turn to snow. With the driving head wind on the 2nd part of the course most people finished looking like lobsters!
A well organised event, challenging undulations but with a good down hill stretch on the last 3 miles and very hot showers made for an excellent race.
Congratulations to the following:- Jude Craft 1st V35 and 2nd lady overall in a new W35 club record time, Sandra Wolanski 2nd V45 and beat her own club record she set last year and Sheila Doel who set a new W55 Club record.
Jude, Sandra and Adrienne posted a convincing team win, while Richard, Ian, Jason and Marco were 3rd (men's team we hope!) |
