Comments: Great organisation and interesting route by Up Hill Down Dale (1300 m elevation gain). Although the food at the finish was quite limited. The first climb was new to me, great views over the reservoir and the central hills. I enjoyed the gradual climb up the old railway line and the Roman road, was able to maintain a good pace. Then a tough double climb of Cribyn and Pen y Fan. Clear weather so the views were great, unlike the last time I was here where the visibility was quite reduced. Interesting technical descent after that, going through a narrow Gully, full of wet loose pebbles. Quick stop at the food station to refill on water and gulp down a cup of coke. Some undulating terrain through fields after that to rejoin the canal. Bit tough going on the last few kms. Just over 30 mn behind Mark Derbyshire (1st) (19th at UTMB 2022) who looked like he was on a mission, that's not bad.
