Near-perfect conditions, no snow or ice left with temperatures slightly warmer than in recent times and very little wind. The race is well organised with good Marshalling, drinks (although we failed to find the advertised Glucose Drinks, although Kit and Ross managed to find some Jelly Babies and Shortbread that I didn't) and chip timing. However it looks like they may have grown out of their venue, you need to arrive a good hour and a half before the start, because there are queues to park which is a good yomp away as well as queueing for other facilities. Congratulations in the 10 miler to Stephen Kimber 2nd SM, Sheila Doel 1st LV60 ( despite me trying to give her whip lash on the way down in the car ) and well done to Natasha Denness with an impressive time in her 10 mile debut. Well done to those doing the 20, some good times, respect to Ross who forfeited his race time to help Kit home.
18/02/2009 - Apologies to Kit, he has set a club record for M60 - CONGRATULATIONS! |
