Comments: Returned for the 3rd time to my favorite race, an undulating course across spectacular, rugged scenery at the most North Westerly point in the UK. The marathon completes a week of races ranging from a beach race up to the marathon. This time I only made it in time for the big one, but was chuffed to have won a tough race with a course PB by 7 minutes. This is one of the most enjoyable events, because of the spectacular, remote location and the unique aspect of a boat ride at mile 22. The clock is stopped as you are whisked across the estuary, from Cape Wrath to the mainland, here the clock is restarted and you climb the last 4 miles to Durness. It is also made great by wonderful organisation and the friendliest group of entrants who come year after year. Thoroughly recommended.
