There was another good turnout for the 2nd club 5k of the year run in warm and blustery conditions which possibly accounted for some of the times being slightly slower in comparison with those recorded in other recent events. Gary Harris was first just ahead of James Eve with the women's contest even closer with Diane Moore finishing a couple of seconds ahead of Laura Kyte. Though, as was the case in race 1, when the age-graded scores were calculated the winners were further down the field. Dave Parsons (guest - Oxford City) posted an excellent score just short of 84%. Sandra Wolanski again scored over 80% as did Gary - but neither bettered Michael Worthington's 82% in the first race so that score leads the series going into race 3 (non-HRR runners not eligible for the series prize). Despite the conditions a number of runners improved their times since race 1. Special mention goes to Jacqui Cope (nee Knight) who ran race 1 as guest and subsequently joined HRR - nine weeks later she posted a time two and half minutes faster.
