It was a lovely evening for the first Time Trial of the season with 62 runners making it one of the largest turnouts ever. Of those, 21 were doing it for the first time. Ella, Lisa and John smashed the times they set last year, while Gail, who has been doing the Time Trial since the Carboniferous era, ran them pretty close. Elsewhere, there was a storming run by Diane, who was only 6 seconds slower than her PB with the 8th fastest time over this course. We plan some minor changes for next time. Robert and I struggled with the large number of runners who asked for a start time on the start line this time, so we will not allow that in future. There were a few near misses with bikes at the finish, so we plan to experiment with taking the finish off the straight and into the subway loop. Finally, Kit has made the good suggestion that everyone should aim to wear club kit for the Time Trial, so I will be encouraging that in future.
