Unnoticed among a crowd of first-timers, Will Paddock won the Time Trial on his second attempt, just ahead of a fast-finishing Steve Ireland. There was unusually good competition at the sharp end of the field, with 3 men within 16 seconds, led home by James Felce, who was fastest man for the second month in a row. Aine Lyng was fastest woman. Further back Graham Day wore his dad's photo on the front of his vest to mark the 4th anniversary of his death. And Emma Croft beat Tash Taylor by more than a minute, but she is carrying one fewer baby. Finally, I promised Andy I wouldn't make any derogatory comments about sandbagging etc, so I won't!
