Comments: Well the IAAF website's report on Dublin didn't quite see the appearance of the famous yellow and blue as the highlight of the event, preferring the fact that for several of the international competitors it was their last chance to get an Olympic qualifying time. There was mixed joy for the Brits. Our last Olympic hope faded away as Andi Drake, Inter-Counties 3K Champion, attempted the 50K time of 4 hours but after having had a virus last week, found by 18K that it was impossible to maintain the necessary pace and dropped out at 20. Better news for young Dominic King in my race, the 20K, as he came in 8 seconds inside the time he needed for lottery funding for next year. I was last of the Brits but managed to improve my PB, going under 1hr45min for the first time.
