First year running of the Farnborough Half Marathon so
thought id give it a bash.
-4 Degrees at 9am on raceday and i later discovered on
the news that Farnborough was the coldest town in the
country last weekend - twas freezin!
The race started at Farnborough Air Ship Hangar and did a
sort of two lap route of an Industrial area and part of
the runway which was rather boring! After that though it
was largely a scenic countryside route through South Wood
Park, along Kennel Lane before a short stretch along the
towpath by Basingstoke Canal and back along quiet roads
to the finish.
Not a particularly well supported race with it being
quite rural but quite enjoyable with a decent finishers
medal!
Only £22 to enter for club runners which seems a bargain
at todays prices!
