Great South Swim

Date: 03rd Jul 2010
Distance: 1 m
Type: XC
Comments: Sunny lovely day for a dip in the Royal Victoria Docks, London along with 5000 others!. Brilliantly organised race, each start wave kept small, better weather than the Great East Swim, this time we had calm swimming conditions. Had a great swim, top tip from an Olympic 10km medalist was not to kick your legs, worked for me as kicking just gave me cramp. For me a strong swim and more confidance after my previous expereince....could quite get into this! Ex HRR Jo Choulerton provided cheer at finish along with an endless supply of diet coke. The elete races were great to watch to see how it is really done! Definatley will be back next year (as will Jo)!
