Comments: A cool overcast start to the day with the threat of drizzle soon gave way to brighter, albeit slightly blustery conditions at Telford’s Athletics stadium. Each plod down the back straight into the wind was soon replaced by an easier glide up the finish straight before heading round the corner again. And again. And again. For 105 (and a bit) laps! COD racing are a friendly bunch offering low-key marathons in the Telford area. Sadly the timing chip company were less than helpful on the day (I believe the idea was for them to keep the runners better informed of their progress!). However they did tell me when I'd notched up 50 laps, so I can't complain too much. And when I'd miscounted (again) thinking I had two left to do, they told me I was on my last lap (some of the other runners had the bad news that they had more laps left than they had accounted for!) Since it was my first (and perhaps only) track marathon, I can't say if this was better or worse than other events. However I believe that lap counting on Track marathons is never easy!
