A lovely evening for a run. This is a nice, small race with fewer than
200 runners and you are able to enter on the day. The race centre is
on the local playing field and after the race they provided a BBQ and
a guy running a disco! Headington were in great form and took full
advantage of these facilities!
Mind you it was deserved, as the race is not a flat one. The course
takes you up and down all the way. You are taken on a once only
circuit out to a neighbouring village called Horley through some
lovely countryside. It really is very scenic. The houses are built
from the local iron stone so are honey coloured and beautiful in the
evening sunshine.
The final downhill to the finish line makes you feel like you are faster
than Mo, and persuades you to come back the following year, the
previous hills practically forgotten.
More good results for HRR - Diane Foster was first woman home and
Mike Davies was first V60.
