Thanks to a very competent and cheerful support team consisting of Marie-Anne Fischer, Gerald Walker, Helen Turley, Laurie Hurman, Andy Sears, Mike Dunmore and John Worth it turned out to be a much more enjoyable experience than I originally anticipated. My son Simon Nickau stayed at home to update the website whenever I crossed a major road enabling many people to keep an eye on my progress and send their emails and phone calls of encouragement. In the end I improved the time set by Alan Joslin by over nine hours. |
