A lovely, sunny day made a welcome change after the recent deluges. A fast start was pretty much guaranteed as desperate runners put as much distance between themselves and "celebrity" starter Christine Hamilton as possible. There was the usual strong support around the course, although I could have done without this year's 3k in The Parks. The winning runner finished in an impressive 29:27.
Barry Cornelius adds:
David originally entered only the 9 runners that were listed as HRR in the official results. By looking in the photos for the race numbers of runners wearing HRR vests, I've expanded the table. If you took part and you are not in the table below, please e-mail me (Barry Cornelius) and I'll add you. The same applies if you got a PB or a prize. The table now has 48 HRR runners.
The www.sportsystems.co.uk web site says "We are sorry for the delay in getting the chip time (personal time) data published and also that some finishers have not got a chip/personal time. This was due to a technical malfunction at the start line. However, if you are affected and you know your own chip/personal time then please e-mail it to us at enquiries@sportsystems.co.uk and we will amend the results for you."
Congratulations to Rachel Shaw who was the 3rd VL35 and to Rose Todd who was the 3rd VL55.
