Comments: Apologies for the delay in posting the results of the Ridgeway relay. Briefly our "A" team beat Abingdon to 3rd overall by a mere 35 seconds - after ten hours of racing. Our "B" team were 21st and the vet team (over 50s) were 2nd vets - although there were only 3 vet teams. Interestingly there was not a single Ladies team in the competition this year (out of 41 teams entered). Conditions on the day were ideal. Cool, dry, no wind and hard underfoot. This can be seen in the times which were very fast. The top 4 team dipping under 10 hours - for 87 miles. Individual successes for HRR runners were 1st on leg for Chris Detmar and 2nd for Mark Richards and Roger Thetford. Well done to all who ran. We didn't have a single navigation error the whole day for all three teams, which shows how hard everybody worked to make it a team success. Thanks to all those who cycled and drove to support each of the teams at the handovers. Most important of all thanks from all of us who did run to Adrienne for doing the organising for our teams, and who coped with having people drop out (through illness and injury) days before the start.
