This year’s race certainly lived up to its name!
A hard and hilly course for this increasingly popular event, now in its fourth year.
Strong winds and heavy rain combined with the chalk hills of Pewsey Vale to make this year’s event a treacherously slippery mud-fest; where staying on one’s feet was a real challenge. Lovely!
Congratulations to Mark Richards for a fantastic performance, when he must have skipped across all the mud and puddles, to record an excellent 3rd Vet40 placing and 7th place overall, against stiff competition.
Sir Chris Chataway, approaching his 77th birthday, ran very well as the oldest competitor and later presented the prizes.
A well-organised and friendly event run from the Milton Lilbourne village hall with excellent post-race cakes provided by the ladies of the village. Recommended.
