Comments: The first time I've done this event, and my first race of any sort for nearly 2 years after a long injury lay off. So, it doesn't really matter what the race was like, I would have been ecstatic just to be there. There was lingering fog when I arrived, so hanging around for the start was cold, but I couldn't fault the organization and the sun came out in time for the start. The cold wind didn't go away, though. The route takes you around the F1 track and other parts of the site in a very twisty route that makes you feel you aren't just running multiple laps of the same road (although you do in fact cover a lot of the same ground more than once). It's flat and the wide roads mean no hold ups, the only impediment to a fast time (apart from being very unfit!) is the wind. The post-finish organization was also very slick, though I thought the goody bag left a bit to be desired for a pricey event (cotton T-shirts don't really cut it these days). The really big drawback to this event is getting away afterwards. There was a lengthy pedestrian traffic jam (if there is such a thing) to walk back to the car park, and it then took me longer to get out of the car park than some runners would have taken to do the race! Complete chaos. There seems to be no way of searching for results by club, so please add yourself if you were there.
