Congratulations to the 24 Headington Road Runners who
finished the iconic Parliament Hill Southern XC Championships on Saturday. Brilliant to have such a good representation and fly the flag for HRR as well as representing Oxfordshire at this showcase event. Although the course had its muddy moments, it was slightly more forgiving than the heavy stretches of sludge of which Parliament Hill is famous. The longer than usual XC distances and the hills remained the same though, providing the usual test of endurance. The weather treated us well, with rain on the way there and on the way home, but dry at the event. This event is always a spectacle at Parliament Hill with the mass charge up the hill at the start set with a dramatic backdrop of the London skyline. Recommended to do at least once in your running career.
It was exciting to see a Headington vest (Emily) leading the whole field to the brow of the first hill. Watch:
