Comments: One for the lovers of multi-terrain races; The Grizzly now has a legendary status and has been voted as one of the top multi-terrain races by Runners' World Readers for the last few years. Styled as "Twentyish muddy, hilly, boggy, beachy miles of the multiest-terrain running experience you will find this side of the end of time", this year’s race, normally held in March, was postponed due to the MSC Napoli being beached off Branscombe in January. The resulting containers, debris and looters on the beach (part of the Grizzly course) precluded the running of the event then. This week’s event was in very warm conditions with the course being unusually dry and firm. The route of the race, which varies from year to year, was particularly tough, with 3,000 feet of climb. The winner’s time reflected this – being 15 minutes slower than is usual.
